2018 Comprehensive Plan Map Amendments

Background

The City of Puyallup adopted a major update to its Comprehensive Plan in November, 2015. Throughout the update process, a number of properties were identified, for various reasons, as potentially requiring a zoning change. As an implementation item of the Comprehensive Plan update, mapping designations (e.g. land use and/or zoning) for many of the identified properties were amended last year. However, there are seven remaining areas in the city that will be reviewed as part of the 2018 Comprehensive Plan Amendments. 

In addition, there is one city-initiated map amendment for 703 39th Ave SE (Parcel #0419102123) that will also be reviewed as part of the 2018 map amendments. Public Meetings

The Planning Commission held a Public hearing to consider proposed amendments to the City's Comprehensive Plan on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, where they unanimously (5 - 0) voted to forward a recommendation of approval to City Council.

Puyallup City Council will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 to consider first reading of an ordinance on the proposed Comprehensive Plan map and text amendments. Second reading of the ordinance is anticipated to take place at City Council's November 27, 2018 meeting.
