2018 Comprehensive Plan Map Amendments
The City of Puyallup adopted a major update to its Comprehensive Plan in November, 2015. Throughout the update process, a number of properties were identified, for various reasons, as potentially requiring a zoning change. As an implementation item of the Comprehensive Plan update, mapping designations (e.g. land use and/or zoning) for many of the identified properties were amended last year. However, there are seven remaining areas in the city that will be reviewed as part of the 2018 Comprehensive Plan Amendments.
In addition, there is one city-initiated map amendment for 703 39th Ave SE (Parcel #0419102123) that will also be reviewed as part of the 2018 map amendments. Please click here for an overview map showing the location of all eight areas of proposed map amendments; the maps included below in the Site Specific Information section provide descriptions of the individual proposed map amendments.
The Puyallup Planning Commission will conduct a Public hearing to consider proposed amendments to the City's Comprehensive Plan on Wednesday, September 26, 2018, 6:30 p.m., in the 5th Floor Council Chambers of City Hall (333 S. Meridian). The Planning Commission will take public comment on the amendments at the public hearing. The Commission is expected to finalize their recommendation for City Council at that September 26 meeting. That recommendation will then be forwarded to City Council for their action in November 2018.
A staff report and environmental analysis will be available at least one week prior to the hearing in the Development Services Center (2nd floor) of Puyallup City Hall located at 333 S. Meridian, during normal business hours (8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m, Mon - Fri).
Persons wishing to testify may submit written comments by 5:00 p.m., September 25, 2018; written comments may be submitted to the Planning Division by mail (2nd Floor, 333 S Meridian), emailed to the project planner (see right side bar), or by using the comment box provided at the bottom of this webpage. Written comments or verbal testimony may also be presented to the Planning Commission at the September 26, 2018 Public Hearing.
